The Restoration Seed Capital Facility Welcomes Patria as a New Partner to Accelerate Investment in agroforestry at scale in Brazil
Geneva / Frankfurt / Sao Paulo, 17 July 2026
The Restoration Seed Capital Facility (RSCF) has approved Patria as a new partner qualifying for RSCF’s support to develop the portfolio of investments under its Reforest Fund.
This fund aims to develop a diversified portfolio for large-scale reforestation and agroforestry projects that restore ecological integrity in degraded landscapes while generating long-term, stable financial returns. By combining ecological restoration with agroecological production systems, the Fund seeks to regenerate native biomes, promote climate resilience, and create inclusive economic opportunities across Brazil, especially in regions heavily impacted by deforestation.
Agroforestry is at the centre of the fund’s strategy because it bridges regenerative agriculture, forest restoration, and rural economic development. By integrating productive species such as coffee, avocado, cocoa, açai, and tropical timber into reforestation efforts, the Reforest Fund aims to build sustainable and nature-positive value chains. These systems promote soil recovery, enhance biodiversity, and generate resilient livelihoods.
“This partnership marks an important step in demonstrating how innovative land-use models can attract and deploy private capital at scale. By supporting the development of high-quality investment opportunities for the Reforest Fund in Brazil, we are helping build solutions that combine environmental impact with commercial returns—creating a model with the potential to mobilize institutional investors and other large-scale pools of capital into nature restoration in developing countries.” said Ivo Mulder, Head of UNEP’s Climate Finance Unit.
The partnership with Patria reflects RSCF’s role in helping emerging financial solutions that mobilise and deploy private capital in support of forest restoration and conservation goals overcome some of the challenges inherent in implementing innovative and impactful land-use models. By supporting investment vehicles such as the Reforest Fund in the development of its investment pipeline, RSCF aims to help close the financing gap for restoration and catalyse scalable models capable of delivering climate, biodiversity and livelihood outcomes.
“We are pleased to partner with the RSCF in support of the Reforest Fund’s work to expand high-integrity agroforestry and reforestation investments in Brazil. Drawing on Patria’s investment expertise, the Fund targets nature-based solutions that restore degraded landscapes, strengthen sustainable value chains, and create economic opportunities for local communities, all while delivering long-term value for investors.” said Pedro Faria, Partner at Patria and CIO of Reforest Fund.
